GET TO KNOW OUR

BREW CREW

Owner - Juan Brantley

As a native of Hilton Head Island, Juan Brantley took his entrepreneurial spirit to the restaurant scene in 2006.  His passion for food, micro brews, and great company was a natural fit for Hilton Head Brewing Company (HHBC). In 2015, Juan jumped on the next opportunity to take HHBC to new heights.  Relocating and expanding the brew house has led to two of HHBCs brews in stores all over South Carolina, and many more on tap in restaurants and hotels in the southern region.

head Brewer and production manager - Bob migliaccio

Hey, Bob the Brewer! Let’s all give a big hello to our Head Brewer and Production Manager, Bob Migliaccio. Originally hailing from Westport, Connecticut, Bob has visited the island many times and is happy to now call it home. His years of brewing expertise are going to help HH Brewing Co rock out the best craft beer on the island! His favorite beer is what’s sitting in front of him on any given day. When asked what he looks forward to the most about brewing for HHBC, his reply, “making liquid sunshine for the masses”.  Sounds like an idea we could all get behind.

Cheers, Bob!

assistant brewer- STeve robson

Joining us in 2022, Steven hails from Johnstown, PA, and has been home-brewing since the late 90's. A self-proclaimed beer nerd, Steve ran Stonebridge Brewing Co in PA where he honed all his fine craft beer skills. Constantly changing, his all-the-time favorite is the J Street when he's not digging into one of our newbies. We're psyched to have him!

Social media manager- Abby Wirth

A fellow native to Hilton Head, Abby grew up loving island life and all the Lowcountry has to offer. Her love of traveling and craft beer has brought her to many breweries both far from home and in her backyard. Hilton Head Brewing Co is one of her all time faves, especially while enjoying a pint of Hefe. Abby looks forward to watching HHBC grow and helping more folks enjoy a taste of Hilton Head, craft brew style. Look for her at local events and beer gigs spreading the good word of Hilton Head Brewing Co.

taproom- paul greene

It's wicked awesome, Paul. Originally from Boston, Mass, he’s been an island resident for over 5 years. But trust us, that wicked cool accent still stands. He loves chatting folks up about his favorite brew, The Folly, while he’s working in the Tap Room. His favorite of favorites about brewery life is meeting people from all over and hearing everyone’s stories. Bonus- Paul is digging learning about the brewing process. Brewer in the making! Ask him about the Red Sox next time you’re in. Way to go, Paul!

Tap ROom- Josh renfro

Long-time member of the Tap Room Crew, Josh joined HHBC in the summer of 2016.  His family moved to Hilton Head in 2000 from Cincinnati, Ohio.  An avid Bengals fan, he loves catching a game while enjoying a pint of The Jointer- hoppy, citrusy and packs a flavorful punch.  When he's not at the brewery, you can find him cruising the island on his motorcycle or cooking some darn good food.  His love of all things foodie easily translates to his passion for hops, brewing and learning everything he can about the art of craft beer.  Be sure to heckle him about the Bengals next time you see him behind the bar.

Tap ROom-Derrick ludaway

Semper Fi. Meet our Marine Tap Room hero, Derrick. He originally hails from Ohio but has been an island guy for quite a while. You might have heard of his local band- Groove Town Assault. Yep, the namesake for one of our brews- Groove Town Assault Xtra Pale Ale. However, his favorite brew at HHBC is our Hefe, light, wheaty and full of flavor. His favorite part of working at the brewery is making people happy with our quality product.

Be sure to stop in and say hey.

Taproom- gilbert ramseur

Another Island transplant, Gilbert joined us in the summer of ’17.  When he is not nurturing brain cells at his day job as a biology teacher, he is here helping us kill off the weak ones… Darwin would be proud.  Gilbert first stumbled into HHBC's Taproom a few years back and just never left.  His favorite beer? Anything hoppy, but is currently partial to the citrusy dankness of the Dunes and Folly.  Cheers.

Taproom- Dylan

Joining us in early 2021, Dylan had just moved to the island from Philadelphia. Once he found his favorite spot to land at the bar (guess where), he decided it might be just the spot to sling beer as well. An old hand at living the brewery life, Dylan worked in a brewery for 5 years up in Philly.

His favorite beer on our current line-up is The Folly. Good choice, Dylan. He's loving that laid-back brewery life with great customers and event better beer. Welcome, Dylan.
